Cojean is a French healthy fast-food restaurant founded by Alain Cojean, a former R&D director at McDonald’s.
That day, with an appointment nearby, we decided to wait inside this welcoming restaurant, taking a moment to relax and enjoy a drink.
We were pleasantly surprised by the place, which, in our opinion, has many strengths that we will explore in this short article.
The Location

This particular location is on Rue Miromesnil, featuring a spacious, clean, and brightly lit interior.
For some reason, it has a Starbucks-like atmosphere—an inviting space where you can sit, work, and enjoy coffee, tea, or a meal.
The space is very pleasant and I love that France has their own franchise proposing something different from the American Giant. Culturellement, la France a toujours privilégié une gastronomie plus saine, selon moi.

I really appreciate that they stay true to their culture instead of adopting a more globalized approach. This is a definite advantage, especially in a city like Paris.
The Food

Cojean is also a great spot for a healthy lunch or dinner—that’s actually how I first discovered the franchise.
The whole place has a fresh and wholesome feel. Unlike American fast-food chains, the focus here is on nutritious, high-quality food, which I personally find to be a big plus.
At Cojean, everything is focused on healthy eating. You’ll find salads, wraps, sandwiches, soups, hot dishes, yogurt, and classic French desserts.
The food looks fresh and appetizing—honestly, much healthier than what my family usually prepares at home!

What I appreciate most about these places is their almost self-service approach. It’s somewhat like a highway rest stop but with much better quality.
At Cojean, you can simply order what you need, sit down, and enjoy your time undisturbed—whether you’re working or just relaxing.

As a coffee enthusiast, I can say their coffee machine is top-notch, and the matcha we were served was expertly prepared. The barista was skilled, polite, and clearly knew his craft.
For the matcha, we had the option to choose from different types of milk and went with oat milk. The drink was perfectly balanced—neither too strong nor too sweet, striking the ideal harmony between flavor and healthiness.

We ordered white tea, served in an elegantly designed, sealed tea bag with hot water in a pitcher. The tea had a delicate aroma and a refined taste—far superior to what you’d typically find in a supermarket.

The carrot cake we ordered was gluten-free and delicious—sweet but not overly so. Unlike typical French desserts, which tend to be rich in butter and sugar, this one felt much healthier in comparison.
Verdict
8.5 out of 10.
This is more of a first impression than a full review, but our quick stop at Cojean before our appointment left us intrigued, and we’ll definitely be back to try the food.
We’ve been looking for a place like this—a self-service spot offering healthy, high-quality food—and it seems Cojean fits the bill. The real question now is whether its pricing can compete with more popular options like pizza or pasta.
The main drawback of healthy food is that it tends to be more expensive than calorie-dense options. However, if I ever needed a place to sit and work, Cojean would still be my top choice over any American chain.
Another major advantage is that it remains open continuously, without strict service hours like a traditional restaurant.
